I finished the first book from my Christmas box this morning and opened the second. It is a signed first printing of Wright Thompson’s The Barn, about the murder of Emmett Till. Looking forward to reading it. Also expecting to be emotionally wrung out by it.

I have a whole gang of grown nieces. They went together and gave me a box of books for Christmas. I’m supposed to wait until I have finished one to open the next. This is pretty amazing. I’ve been a grinch about Xmas. Then this happened.

I love my rheumatologist, but whereas I used to see her every visit, now I only see her on request. Otherwise, I see a nurse practitioner every other visit with bloodwork only in between. 1/🧵

It was my infusion day today which means it was also my day to stop off at Zeus on the Go and buy spinach pies to eat in the car on the way home. Being able to walk may or may not be enough motivation to stay on my biologic, but spinach pie gets the job done.

Lots of hot takes on Hunter Biden this morning. In normal times I’d agree that the president should not pardon his own son. These are not normal times, though, and MAGA was never going to be satisfied with HB serving a normal sentence for his crimes.

First, let me say that I do not know how to sew, and before I buy anything I plan to borrow sis-in-law’s machine to learn a little. That said, what would you pick for beginner wanting to learn quilting? Needs to be light enough to move on and off kitchen table. #sewing #quilting #beginner

For those who have nowhere to go for Thanksgiving or who are grieving losses in the time, I am truly sorry. I don’t want to minimize that, but I have fantasies of disappearing from mid-November until mid-January in order to miss the holidays.

If you live in Central Mississippi, I hope you will get out and vote for Justice Kitchens in tomorrow’s run off. Supreme Court Justices are supposed to be non-partisan, and Justice Kitchens is respected across party lines. His challenger has been running as a far right candidate.

One of the funniest things about small town MS is that a local bbq restaurant is the easiest place to get a vegetarian plate. I doubt there is anywhere that serves vegan, though.

Recently noticed that I have not taken my DMARD, one of my main meds, for months. Looking forward to telling dr this. Do I blame it on brain fog? 🤦🏻♀️
