This week, I went to see Sadie’s record release show at Sleepwalk. I’d never been to the venue, and it was surprisingly nice for being a small room in the back of a Bushwick bar.
Sadie was excellent as always, and also on the bill was Eliot Krimsky who played second keyboards in our Bowie shows.

Yesterday, I was filming a scene from ER so I could show Deron this really cute dog, when my phone started to ring, and my hitting “decline” at an accidentally right moment makes it seem as though Mark’s beeper was remarkably futuristic.

I had dinner at a diner with Sadie tonight, and our ketchup was really high on itself. (Or maybe Charles Schultz gave a testimonial?)

If anyone’s wondering where to get my holiday gift…

There’s a crazy store called Country Junction that’s close to D’s house. It’s huge and sells untold amounts of weird things. But weirdest by far is this set of Rolling Stones statues. Who will be the final owner of this and why? (It’s been for sale for at least 4 years.)

It’s only been 3 days and I’m already missing Ecuador.

It was really fun riding along w Deerhoof up to Saugerties, and watching soundcheck and the show… until the heavens opened and created the most sudden and chaotic ending ever. D & I had a venue-provided Airbnb with a sauna for the night. And then went to where NY, PA, & NJ meet on the way home.

There were many amazing scenes in my cemetery this morning during my run: a kestrel screeching from a high branch, 7 grounds crew guys on riding lawnmowers attempting the scariest bumper cars ride ever, and this billboard: angels are screaming, choose new worlds

I saw this in my gardening FB group this morning and I can only assume this was the end of a battle royale between a rattle snake, tarantula, scorpion, shark, and porcupine.
