I agree! But VC level funding isn’t required to build good tools, especially these days, so I’m hopeful.

I wonder how much the increased burnout is a factor of the effort expended trying to stay on top of what the agents are doing.

If you care to pay attention, it's a lot of output to pay attention to. Many _aren't_ paying attention, so the burnout is less (at a significant cost).

There may be some interesting agent behaviors organically emerging from moltbook, but so far the most interesting things I've seen have been the security issues, the influence of crypto and the broken nature of AI twitter

So what instead? I decided I’m going to redirect my spare capacity in this space to contributing to existing projects that I love and support.

Lower overhead in more manageable chunks of time and energy, and still getting to take part in this space (ATProto) I’m so energized by.

Honestly, I don’t. I have a family and a full time job, a local community I tend to, and plenty of other things taking my capacity already.

Creating new tools for people to use is alluring, but it’s not something I want to half-ass.

I’m sure there are plenty of both. We’re just too busy finding and calling out the glaring ones to dig into the classier ones yet.
