Here's a BTS look at the test rig + animation I worked on to figure out how to even achieve such a complicated action. This first attempt was so successful that it was directly imported into the final shot render, albeit with additional animation on the human head.

I would let a try on the Live Action, but know it has a lot of problematic shit. But it's fun.

Then, get to the comic. It's fucking AMAZING, and it'll give you context for a LOT of things that the animation was pulling on.

Personally i see the animation as an "Sequel" to the comic.
