This will be weather, dog, sports, music, and husband content mostly.
My evening was pretty great.

Never turn down an opportunity to stop at the zoo in Omaha. It was also around 50° while we were there. Sweatshirt weather.

The nephew got imported cream soda. All the way from Iowa.

Lasted very long in the challenge this year.

Nicollet is so beautiful all lit up ❤️

You might wake up to a couple slippery spots in the Twin Cities Monday. We have a small window for light freezing drizzle and snow, but it could be enough to make some roads icy.

Temperatures quickly get above freezing, limiting how long this lingers during the morning drive.

Happy gay Christmas.

Update…

Has anyone tangled a backpack strap SO BAD in an office chair you had to rip off the wheel?

This is my current dilemma between forecasts.

The Twin Cities should have a white Christmas...but barely.

Officially, there is 4" of snow on the ground at MSP right now. This is the modeled snow depth on Christmas morning. We should hold on to an inch or two, even with a few days in the 30s.

Cold doesn’t exist. It’s just an absence of heat.

Classic Minnesota winter stand-up from Rich.

No, he wasn’t out talking about the weather, but it did involve ICE.

NEW BLIZZARD WARNING

There is now is Blizzard Warning for southern Minnesota until 10:00 PM Thursday. Dangerous road conditions are possible along I-35 south of Faribault, and Hwy 169 south of Henderson!
December 18, 2025 at 10:54 PM
Watch out! I’m in Golden Valley right now, and this is freezing drizzle. My windshield is getting icy. Road conditions will probably take very quickly.

Guess I gotta stop leg day early because someone’s in the way.

Sports guys doing weather. Got the big ol thumbs down from Caesar. Cant blame him.

The white flag is the default “windy” icon on our system. I usually swap it out for an actual sky condition.

However, it feels appropriate for saying NO MÁS to the cold, strong winds, and blowing snow Thursday afternoon. Flash freeze potential is there too.
December 18, 2025 at 1:37 AM
Thursday morning: Warm with wet roads.

Thursday afternoon: Strong winds, very cold, scattered snow, and potentially a flash freeze before/during the afternoon commute.

Take the big jacket Thursday, and expect a slower PM commute.

I know you're getting a car wash today. EVERYONE is going to get a car wash today or tomorrow. Just get it done before noon Thursday.

You could easily take down a few chapters in a book while waiting in line...or finish your last-minute online holiday shopping.

Very light freezing drizzle in the north metro. I’m not seeing any ice on the roads around me.

But I am seeing a very faint rainbow!
December 16, 2025 at 1:47 PM
The Twin Cities have not been above freezing since 10:00 PM on November 25. You might know that as the Tuesday before Thanksgiving!

Even with the wind, that 40° on Tuesday is going to feel oh so good. And soak it up, because it will get colder later this week.
December 15, 2025 at 1:55 AM
I call any wind chill -25° or colder “dangerous” because frost bite is possible in as little as 15 minutes.

If you’re out late tonight or before 9am Sunday, many layers with a hat, scarf, and gloves. No exposed skin.
December 14, 2025 at 1:23 AM
Juuuuust a little cold. Remember, extreme conditions are relative to what you’re used to, and what the infrastructure can handle.

The Minnesota in us chuckles at the wind chills in the 10s across the south, but it’s still rough on them.
