I came around much later to what you where saying about Shaddiq/Miorine, and now they're maybe my fav relationship in the show (?, its so tasty how its far too late now for both of them but yet they still care, shes the chink in the armor of his performance

i'd say Gqx is more Tsurumaki than it is Anno, so FLCL and Diebuster feel like a much more appropiate companion piece (also because all 3 of those share a very similar structure, only that FLC and Diesbuster are good)

Like, atleast for me, I cant separate my dissapointment in GQX from my knowledge that he has done so much better, twice already infact, so much of GQX is reheated nachos from FLCL, Diesbuster and the Rebuilds, so that would probably give you a different perspective on the show once you watch em

maybe you've already watched them, but if you digged the bits about one-sided obsession and yearning in GQX, you really owe it to yourself to check out FLCL and Diesbuster, to see what Tsurumaki can pull off when hes not stuck in development hell
