There’s one thing I’ve learned: you can’t outrun Mother Nature, especially when she’s packing eight inches of snow. The 2026 Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium was supposed to be the kickoff to the season this past Saturday.

As we head back to the legendary Bowman Gray Stadium for the second time with the NASCAR Cup Series this weekend, the race has already seen a major shift. All on-track action for the Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium has been moved to Sunday. The preliminary car count for the Clash sits at 38, including a pair of part-time cars. Here is the full entry list for this weekend!

After Kevin Magnussen earned a podium in his F1 debut, he never got another podium. On paper, the Dane didn't accomplish much in his ten-year F1 car, which doesn't include the breaks he took because he couldn't find a team. Kaulig Racing announced that Tony Stewart will return to NASCAR competition, driving one of their brand-new Dodge RAM Trucks in the season-opening Fresh From Florida 250 at Daytona. Daniel Oliver isn't your typical driver. The Austin, Texas, resident didn't start his racing career until age 29. “During Covid, I began sim racing. I took my personal car to the track and realized I could do this. I met another driver who gave me the information on how to get a license.” Oliver said. But this past weekend, the weight of history wasn't just in the name—it was painted on the sheet metal. I had the privilege of shadowing Bobby Earnhardt throughout the two-day ARCA Menards Series pre-season test, and while the speed charts tell one story, the garage area told another.

We've seen several drivers at NASCAR's top level score their breakout season over the last few years: Briscoe, Blaney, Byron, Reddick, and van Gisbergen come to mind.
