If you were standing here, what would strike you first: the glow of the cliffs, the crispness of the air, or the sound of the waves?

Though the Mendocino cliffs are usually under a veil of fog-laden gray, catch them at the right time of day and they will glow for you. That fleeting warmth against the contrasting colors of the water underneath is what inspires me to capture them in paint.
