The USSR repeatedly reached out to the West to form an alliance against Germany in the 30s. Instead, they refused and many of the Allies signed their own non-aggression pacts and other treaties with the Nazis before the USSR did in 1939.

Random assassinations which are disconnected from a mass movement are acts of adventurism and should not be condoned. This is a desperate expression of the rage people feel, and we should channel it into workers’ organization so we can fight a proper struggle.

Without replacing the capitalist state with a workers state and radically transforming the economic base of society (i.e., socialist revolution), our “life and liberty” are always at risk of being lost.
