Fascinating study, this. Raising teacher awareness of published research evidence is clearly vital alongside (not instead of) supporting teachers to themselves be reflective practitioners themselves. This paragraph sums up my own feelings about the dangers of an over-reliance on discovery learning.

New data out today shows 5.3% EHCP and 14.2% SEN Support.
There are good news stories behind this increase - better identification in schools, improvements in medical science, greater awareness of neurodivergence. That’s not the whole picture, but is an important part of it.

I spent this morning slipping and limping my way through a trail marathon in the pouring rain, in the same week my brother-in-law lost his lovely dad to bowel cancer. Grateful if anyone might spare a few quid for Bowel Cancer UK. Thank you
