👥 Don't operate with just the usual suspects in the field. Broaden alliances. I'm happy I got the opportunity to discuss the role of businesses in democratic innovation and give a sneak peek at our new project on corporate civic responsibility in safeguarding democracy.

🚧 The era of piloting is over. It's time to take stock of what we know works, institutionalize it, and embed it in social networks.

❗ Corruption and financial irregularities represent by far the most common charges, though nearly half of these cases ultimately resulted in acquittals or dismissals.

♟️ Between 1989 and 2021, more than 75% of democratic and hybrid regimes initiated at least one prosecution against a former leader. Latin America stands out significantly in this trend.

3)🚪 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐛𝐞 𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜. Even in established democracies, businesses face risks when openly countering government policies. Democracy protection stakeholders must recognize this reality: not every effort can or should be broadcast.
