yup, those are just the two examples that were the most blatant about it and were some of the coolest ones. i also think of both of them (among others) as reviving psychedelic music within a new wave and indie context and thats still a massive thing today

funnily enough, what got the beatles to really fully click with me was getting super into siouxsie and the banshees. this is only tangentially related but yeah 80s alternative which eventually turned into 90s indie fucking loved the beatles
