Hoping you see a good performance and result, followed by a classic Wilder meltdown about the city bus driver, tea lady or whatever staff member he’s decided is at fault rather than him or his players

How it should be really!

Yeah, always tricky. I once ran a regular night where we had six resident DJs - just ended up splitting into pairs and doing B2Bs. Fun if you’re aligned, hard work if not 😂 We generally made it work though - and more mixing was always squeezed in back at mine afterwards 😀

The struggle is real - sets are never long enough for me. Average mix at home is about six hours 😂 I am rarely happier than when I am mixing. DJing is definitely an addiction (for me at least!)

I mean, I love long records if they’re good/great and would happily let them roll out, but sadly not all crowds will go with you. And as the late great JD Twitxh would have said: the needs of the dancefloor comes first.

Well, in theory you could do it the other way round (ie mix in midway through before it drops into the backing vocal loop and Tony Christie). But yes, one I have blasted all the way through while mixing at home but have always just played some of it out in public. 😁

My tip: play the first half/two thirds and then mix out in the instrumental break before the walk like a panther vocal comes in. Works a charm (plus in my opinion the no return portion is better/vocal works better with the disco groove).

Imagine there’s no leader, it’s easy if you try (etc etc)

Michael Masi style shenanigans incoming

Knapper and Adams as Thompson and Thompson. Pity none of Big Philippe’s assistants has a Captain Haddock style beard

Ooof! Mine went the first cold day of the autumn/winter a couple of weeks ago. World of pain but was mercifully repaired within a couple of days. Winced at how much it cost mind!

At this stage, a scruffy poke in or tap in (like the disallowed one yeaterday) would suffice!

Sarge’s goal ratio v Watford is pretty good. Would be excellent for him to end his goal drought against them on Saturday

Though I’ll have to fit that round cleaning out my mum’s box room. I know how to live 😂

Oh nice. A while since I’ve been there. Also a while since I’ve done the Shalesmoor/Kelham Island ale crawl - always a fun and boozy way to spend a day. Some of the best pubs around in that area. In town next weekend so may add it to the agenda!

Which Sheffield watering hole? Potted meat is pleasingly old school

This is true, no argument there, but it’s one thing voting for a party that aligns with those views, another to be an actual party activist. That’s why I find people like this guy weird.

Young Tories really are weird - Young Farage fans even odder. Normally it takes decades to get that selfish and nasty (and some of us mercifully never get there)

I mean, I’d like to see us control a game and dominate (while also taking advantage of chances created) but I thought that might be asking a bit too much right now!

We could start by not giving Ilias Chair the freedom of Carrow Road. That and finding a way to score multiple goals rather than one!

I concur. Last time I was up that way, attempting to get back onto the M25 at a junction near Brentwood, some chump decided he couldn’t be arsed to queue and drove down the grass to the side, before barging his way in at the front of the tailback.

Steady on! 😂

Interesting exercise though. As it happens I started my first staff job as a dance music journalist 25 years ago, so… well, in theory I would have been a good person to contribute (as you would have been to be fair!)
