Finally watched Ryan Coogler's Sinners. Comparisons with Robert Rodriguez' From Dusk Till Dawn are inevitable, but both are excellent. Sinners is a slow burn for the first hour, setting up characters and situations. Then comes the payoff, and what a payoff it is.

The Crow Girl is a six-eplsode series featuring Eve Myles, who we all know and love since she appeared in Torchwood. She and much of the cast give outstanding performances in this dark mystery story. The final episode will leave your head spinning. This is a must-watch.

While Joan Hickson will always be “my” Miss Marple, we’re re-watching Marple starring Geraldine McEwan and loving it. Not only a great production, we’re seeing the sum total of British acting royalty, including some Doctor Who alumni (and future alumni).

In this week's episode of StarTrek Strange New Worlds, The Sehlat Who Ate Its Tail, Kirk finds himself in the captain's chair of a wrecked starship facing impossible odds. It's a step towards Kirk becoming the captain we all know and love. An immediate classic.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds hit another high note with the brilliantly conceived and absolutely hilarious episode, “A Space Adventure Hour.” I can’t wait to use the word … “diction” in a sentence.

I don’t know if 4K streaming wasn’t available from Paramount+ before in Canada, or if maybe I was too cheap to try it. But streaming Star Trek: Strange New Worlds and Star Trek: Picard in 4K is a revelation.

We just finished watching the Netflix series A Man on the Inside. Ted Dansen goes undercover in a retirement community to get to the bottom of some thefts. It's funny, heartwarming, and brilliantly written. Pure joy to watch.

I for one very much enjoyed Superman. Busy and overcrowded? Maybe, but also glorious and joyful and at times very funny. As an aside, I’ve always enjoyed Nathan Fillion’s work, but here he’s doing something completely different and pulls it off beautifully.

When the Moon Hits Your Eye is another gem from John Scalzi. The premise is that the moon has turned into cheese. Now what? The tone of the book often resembles that of the coda of Redshirts, with some beautiful, touching human moments. Silly premise? Sure. But a wonderful book, never the less.

There's something about good food that acts like a kind of magic, bringing people together. Nonnas, which we recently watched on Netflix, is full of magic. Joe Scaravella wants to open a family restaurant where the chefs are Italian grandmothers. Don't watch on an empty stomach.

I watched the finale of #DoctorWho a bit late, and of course it was impossible to avoid spoilers. Even so, not every surprise was spoiled, and, despite, the spoilers, I can say that my mind was officially blown. What a beautiful way to bring together the two seasons.

Like everyone else, I re-watched Rogue One after having finished Andor. My only complaint is that it’s too short. I’d love to see Rogue One reshot as Andor season 3 with at least 8 episodes.

Is this the golden age of Agatha Christie adaptations? There's been some real corkers of late, including Why Didn't They Ask Evans, Murder is Easy, and, most recently, Towards Zero. To which I say, keep them coming!

How is it that I never heard of The Last Detective? It features Peter Davison as a down-trodden but indefatigable detective who gets the job done, much to the dismay of his “gov.” This is a charming show that leaves us smiling.
