That is exactly why I prefer revising to drafting. It's more like assembling a puzzle than searching my house for the puzzle pieces that fell under the couch.

People ask why I still listen to writers talk about craft I already know and this is why. Sometimes someone jogs something in my brain I haven't been paying attention to and it helps.
