Apple pie isn't usually my top choice (my stomach and apples usually don't agree) but I do agree it's a North American classic that everyone should try at least once.

Pumpkin pie is the real goat though!

I've had apple pies with cardboard like pastry, next to no apples, and zero spice or flavor. Those are bad. A lot of commercial apple pies border on at least one of those three things. Cold apple pie also sucks.

However, a homemade apple pie is almost always incredible! Hot and flavorful 😍

Some of the English events also openly state that they have no interest in growing to the size of GDQ, which is a valid choice. Most of the English event leaders had a front row seat to ESA imploding and recognize that growth without careful prep is very risky.

Speedrunning is massive in the French community and is growing rapidly in the German community. Both have large in-person events that rival GDQ. We just don't know much about them here in NA unless you intentionally go look.
