We are experiencing the coldest January days in Sweden in the last 25 years, when all forms of water, whether liquid or solid, and even the moisture particles in the air, freeze. ❄️

Södra Bergundasjön lake, which is about 5km2 in size and where we swim in the summer, has turned into an ice rink ⛸️

Can you believe we were chillin' and splashin' here not long ago (and we will again)? Winter in Sweden is like a never-ending freeze, like time stops too.

A remarkable day for me and millions of other Turkish citizens around the world. It is the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey, the modern and secular state founded by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his companions.

As a female Turkish Swedish academic, I am proud to belong to these nations.
