Support Alberni Golf Club Workers! Say no to union busting and mass layoffs. Alberni Golf Workers unionized and were forced to strike to get basic rights: Health benefits, A wage increase after years of service, Recall rights for seasonal workers They have laid off all union staff, despite there being plenty of work to do. 6 seasonal workers were laid off weeks early and 3 permanent employees have been laid off for the first time. Members of our community are out of work and family health benefits because they have fought for a decent wage and are trying to take care of their families. Alberni Golf Club has: Laid off all unionized employees (unprecedented!), Refused to pay bargained increases, Refused to recognize years of service and seniority, We believe they are trying to bust our Union!

Another ace for us in Vancouver - we’ve ratified a new contract at Tsawwassen Springs Golf Course ! Here’s some of what we’ve secured:

✅6% wage increase in year 1
✅Stronger WCB language to protect members
✅Up to 10 sick days
✅Signing bonus of $1000

On October 28 we won a new Union agreement as Dexterra contract janitors at UBC Okanagan Campus residence! Our new contract has strong wage increases and many other wins. 🟪🧹🟨 1/2

We're gearing up to bargain our first contract as new Union members in November employed by Delta Facilities Maintenance (DFM) at YVR. Almost 200 of us have received the runaround from the employer for years, and we’re fed up with the current working conditions 1/3

ICS Facilities want to lower standards for cleaners in Toronto, but we won’t let them.

10k of our colleagues across major cities already won better wages & benefits, and safer & more reasonable workloads. There is no excuse to provide any janitor with anything less.

❕Last week we participated in Union trainings! In Toronto, we learned the ins and outs of being stewards to support our co-workers across working sectors like cemeteries, bike shares, and more. In Ottawa, we learned more about our new CA to deepen our knowledge as Union members. #StrongerTogether

Cleaners at the University of Winnipeg are the lowest paid workers on campus, so we formed a Union in the Spring of 2025.
