Poet. WE CAN’T PROGRAM THE SUN (2025, Bottlecap Press): https://bottlecap.press/products/programthesun

Words in JMWW, Eunoia Review, Creative Colloquy, Coalition Works, and more. Lots on faith, film, and community. NUFC/O’s supporter. Opinions are my own.

This administration seems intent on censoring art that disagrees with its particular sense of entitlement. So, if you’re looking to support work that is directly opposed to that, my debut poetry collection is now available.

Keep writing.

This review thrills me. Ethan Hawke has been steadily ascending toward the top echelon of generational talents. He never phones in a performance, and he is so deeply invested in the art of creating, not consuming. Oh, and he’s not even 60 years old! Miles and mile of performances to go.
BLUE MOON is written as a play- a single night in the life of a talented, sad, tortured writer who doesn't know he is going from celebrated talent to footnote in history. It is some of Ethan's best work EVER, and Rick Linklater's best movie in years (and I *LOVE* all his recent work.) F'N BRILLIANT.

I am sure I’m not the only poet/writer who navigates the world of sharing work without instagram, but I’d love to hear from others how they do so. Too many platforms are pushing AI scraping/tools, and I am so opposed to being on anything that does so.

Officially Meta-less as of today. Got rid of FB in 2020, and I pulled the plug on IG today. While I used to love its design to share and connect, I cannot, especially as a writer/creative, in good conscience support the platform, its man-child of an owner, and their AI push.

PSA for any and all, especially for those having a hard time this holiday season. It’s America’s Thanksgiving today, and while that typically means folks are surrounded by friends/family, it doesn’t mean it’s always ideal.

It’s OK to not be OK. Reach out. Check in. Speak up. You are so loved.
14 years on, Gary Speed’s loss reminds us how vital it is to speak up, check in, and look after our mental health #nufc

The BEFORE trilogy. I discovered these films during a pivotal period in my life, and they’ve taught me so much about love, grace, beauty, life, and the human condition. They’re never far from my thoughts, and continue to serve as an inspiration in many ways.
What movie are you most thankful for? (not necessarily your favorite!)

Only just now saw the match highlights and holy smokes I don’t think I’ve seen so many wide open misses in a single game before. The 13 minute recap had me roaring, so I can only imagine how watching live must have been! Massive win, lads. What a beautiful victory. #nufc

While we’ve moved our discs to booklets, we’ll never get rid of our physical media collection. We still have the cases, too, but just don’t have the space to store them properly.

No one ever tells you that pushing SUBMIT on your full-length poetry manuscript is an exciting yet stressful experience.

“This leading from faith does not mean always feeling God’s presence, always knowing God’s direction, but rather making a faithful choice day after day.”

Loving this book from Mandy Smith so much. Lots to chew on, lots to confront, and lots to take forward.

Only just heard about this amazing endeavor by Sara Cox this morning - what an inspiration! Catching up with BBC Radio 2 socials and watching the grit, determination, and support is beautiful. Well done, Sara!
Congratulations to Sara Cox over in England.

Running 135 miles in a remarkable achievement while raising money for children - Amazing!

She’s 50, and literally just ran 135 miles through the cold and rain!

Hmmm… what/who could have happened within the last decade that would send women fleeing? I can’t quite put my OH WAIT.

Fellas: if you’re advocating for more toxicity, more tr*mp, and more for yourselves and those like you - you are failing the women in your life.
"In 2025, 40% of women aged 15 to 44 say they would move abroad permanently if they had the opportunity. The current figure is four times higher than the 10% who shared this desire in 2014, when it was generally in line with other age and gender groups."
Record Numbers of Younger Women Want to Leave the U.S.
The percentage of younger women in the U.S. who express a desire to migrate permanently has surged in the past decade.

Spent the weekend editing. While I’m grateful for music to make the process more tolerable, editing a manuscript is my absolute least favorite part of the writing process.
Editing a poetry manuscript while listening to Radiohead’s “In Rainbows” is bliss, by the way.

Worst loss I’ve seen in my whole two-plus years as a supporter. I won’t go as far as Howe needs to be on the hot seat, but it’s clear the tactics aren’t working. We cannot allow the summer to keep being our fallback. At some point, this team/these players need to answer the call. #nufc

If only there was a way we could have seen this vile behavior coming beforehand! If only we’d have listened to the smarts instead of those who claim that “experts don’t know anything.”

This is what happens when a monster is elected - they just create more monsters.
Even the FBI is warning ICE that its agents must identify themselves — after criminals exploited that anonymity across multiple states. Who could’ve seen that coming?

While I’ve done a lot of half marathons over the years, I’ve only done one full marathon, which turned out to be a massive disappointment. The back half was literally up and down Seattle suburbs. Even pro runners loathed it.

But… what better time than year 40 to run another 26.2 miles?

Keep going.

Two lit mag rejections over the last few day feels like the crisp air on a fall morning, honestly. I genuinely love rejections, as they make me want to keep going.

Keep writing.

As someone who doesn’t often visit where I grew up, but always has feelings when I do, this poem strikes deep.
What's it like to return to your home town years after leaving?

This poem from Whatever You Do, Just Don't finds that nothing's changed. But then everything's changed too...

In thinking a lot about fixed spaces and fixed times, I’ve also been doing a lot of thinking about how we often think of the people we encounter as fixed (stationary, set).
