Nathan’s mate Nigel sure did seem to want to brush it all away when questioned by Matt Frei back in 2019.

Damned if you do.

Damned if you don’t.
Yvette Cooper was defined by inertia and just blew in the wind. Shabana Mahmood gets things done. And what she wants to get done is absolutely crackers.

The only voters this suggestion could ever appeal to is Lib Dem voters.
This is probably a crazy idea, but wouldn't it be better to react to the *actual* budget, rather than to every leak and piece of speculation in the months beforehand?

“4 interest rate cuts”

Fingers crossed, here’s hoping “government” *never* has to raise interest rates!

Question: Which, if any, of the UK’s current crop of political leaders would likely commit to abandoning X?
Keir Starmer's spokesman says they "haven't seen" Elon Musk's demands for a civil war on the streets of Britain.

No plans for the Government to leave X

Badenoch, proving once more (and in quite spectacular fashion on this occasion) that she will never be anything other than a deeply, deeply unserious politician.
Badenoch said she was "thrilled" the bill had finally got noticed on Peston, broadcast 1040pm last night

"I am thrilled we are talking about this" says Kemi Badenoch on the deportation bill.

She claims that "leaving the ECHR" changes the bill. (We haven't left - and it doesn't)

By any chance, Danny, is the simple answer ‘Fourteen years of Tory governments’?
October 28, 2025 at 3:11 PM
Hahahah! The Lib Dems in 5th, on just 15%!!
The Greens are heading towards being ahead of the Labour party.

Then, Labour will have to stand down to stop dividing the anti-Reform vote.

And yet, Labour could remain in government until at least 2029
This is a shift but it’s still a very vague one. It doesn’t explicitly rule out removing people with ILR based on a retrospective change to the rules. Apart from the general chaos, it’s quite something to leave so many UK residents in limbo pending a “review”.
Are the Tories now rowing back on ILR?

Last week Badenoch's spokesman said Katie Lam's comments were "broadly in line" with the party's stance

Now a party spokesperson says it's “subject to an ongoing internal review” following a widespread backlash

What’s most intriguing is what on earth could have warranted the need to raise a Freedom of Information request. What could William Yarwood at the TPA have thought he might discover?

“When she had said that she had had enough of black and brown faces on TV adverts, what she had really meant was that she had had enough of black and brown faces on TV adverts.”

Wow, what a deliciously, devastatingly acerbic line

Gonna stick my neck out here and suggest Nigel Farage absolutely wants and needs foot soldiers like Sarah Pochin to go in hard on DEI. This is Trump’s bidding.

So, is he really “unhappy with what she’s done”? Or, might Nigel just be lying (again)?

Fun fact: Nigel Farage’s endowment has now enlarged to a size that's bigger than the Tories biggest pair of balls combined!

The mad part is that the ‘51%’ metric originates directly from the very report seeking to “track the levels of representation & quality of portrayal in UK TV advertising”.

A metric subsequently reported by multiple press outlets, whipped up the right, conflated by Pochin, and misrepresented by Grok

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why your should never, ever trust a Tory.
I guess what is going on here is that the Bill was merely an act of political theatre + optics. So that, when the bill was rejected, the Conservatives would say that it was not their fault that the people who came to Britain in 2019-24 under the Johnson/Sunak governments had been able to stay
