I don’t know what’s going on, but I have been in a really good mood today. First full day in a LONG time.

I will say that when you have days like this, lean into em HARD. Life is fleeting, and gratitude and joy go a long way. I’m thankful to the Universe for giving me this day.

Changes I’ve Made This Past Month That Have Positively Impacted My ADHD and Mental Health: 1. Regular Exercise – Nothing crazy. I’m not aiming for a six-pack anytime soon, but movement, muscle memory, and brain activity are what matter most. Consistency is key—at least 3-5 days a week. 2. Diet – Due to the economy and my family’s goal to get out of debt, we’ve been cooking at home. Freshly prepared meals and sitting around the table with my beautiful family have been a joy, vastly improving my mental health. Plus, Jennifer Nelson-Duregger is a really good cook. 3. Supplements – I continue to fine-tune what I take. One major addition has been MyCommunity capsules from Host Defense Mushrooms, a company founded by renowned mycologist Paul Stamets. He was a major part of the documentary Fantastic Fungi (highly recommended), and after researching various brands, his knowledge won me over. 4. Mindfulness – The book The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle is a game-changer. I’m discovering so much about myself and learning to operate in the present. By grounding myself in the NOW, I’ve become more present in my daily life. I constantly ask myself, “Are things good right now?”—and usually, the answer is yes, even when responsibilities, goals, and challenges exist. In this moment, things are good. “Time is an illusion…” 5. A Massive Reprioritization of Social Media and News Consumption, with a Focus on Media Literacy – Let’s be real: the human brain wasn’t designed to absorb thousands of posts filled with trauma, complaints, negativity, and information overload. I’ve shifted my main focus to what’s happening in my own community above all else. 6. Allowing Myself to Create – In both my day job and my publishing work, I take on the needs of dozens (if not more) of people every day. But carving out time for my own creativity—signing up for the Silver Drawing Academy and setting a goal of illustrating my first book—has reconnected synapses in my brain. For the first time in over 20 years, I’m drawing every day. 7. Gratitude – This ties back to mindfulness, but I’m making an effort to focus my thoughts on gratitude and humility each day that I get to be here. We don’t know how much time we have, so I want to make each day count. These are the things I’ve been doing for myself—not quick fixes or a one-size-fits-all solution, but the culmination of two years of work that finally seems to be clicking into place. I’m so thankful for all of you who are part of my life. I’m not the best at reaching out, but please know that even if we don’t talk often, I probably think about you more than you realize—and I want to do better. The next four years won’t be easy—life never is—but the past couple of years have prepared me to be more connected to humanity and my community than ever before.

Fantastic evening tonight with Vincenzo Natali in LA at a 35mm screening of SPLICE!

Packed out theater, half hadn’t seen the film. It played wonderfully. Sold some novelizations and his graphic novel, TECH.

Vincenzo remains the NICEST and most gracious director I’ve ever met. 🖤

When The Appleseed Cast released their album “Mare Vitalis” I went to see them live in Minneapolis, MN.

That concert was a near spiritual experience. I’ll never forget it. Fan for life.

BLINK TWICE (2024) is absolutely FANTASTIC.

Kind of GET OUT meets KNIVES OUT. Sucked me in and had me hooked.
