Listening to Patrick McMahon at CT Main Street Center's TOD event describe the redevelopment of Windsor Center is making me homesick. To know Windsor Center is to love it - a real community that takes care of each other.

The anonymous bigots behind that 169 group is really leaning into the right wing talking points now. Per anonymous losers, CT doesn't have a homelessness problem, and if we did, they blame migrants.
March 9, 2025 at 9:26 PM
Oh, and they hate tiny homes and homelessness isn't a problem in CT according to these experts. What pathetic losers.

There's a full house for today's Housing Committee public hearing. The agenda is a full one - 26 bills. There's a big turnout for HB 6889 which would expand just cause eviction protections.

It's great to see Senator Looney and Senator Duff advocating for bold change to our housing policies. They are such effective communicators about the economic, social, and moral reasons to create a state of housing abundance.

Seen in the wild. Support just cause eviction protections.

Happening now: Rep. Felipe is speaking in support of the Just Cause eviction protections campaign at the Capitol.

A similar connection had already been made to homelessness in CT by the exclusionist at ct169strong.
January 23, 2025 at 12:59 PM
It's dangerously cold in CT. The people behind CT169 Strong think it's a good time to tell you that homelessness isn't really a problem in CT. Oh, and if it is immigrants are to blame.

People that refuse to allow new affordable homes in their community make some distasteful assumptions about the new residents and the reactions of their community to the new residents. These assumptions are very rarely explored. Here's one.

Nothing says 'neighbor' more than preventing new neighbors in this CT town.

I refuse to subscribe to this site because I think they are in the bag for the segregationist hoarders, but this headline irritates me enough to share it. Even after years of working on housing policy, it still stuns me that people will show up so easily to prevent others from having a home.

The CT Office of Fiscal Analysis' latest Fiscal Accountability Report projected a deficiency of $5.6 million in the Rental Assistance Program due to increased rents. www.cga.ct.gov/ofa/Document... Meanwhile, thousands of proposed new homes are denied annually by local land use commissions.

Happening right now - @jerusalem.bsky.social speaking at the CT Affordable Housing Conference. She is one of our very best communicators on the housing crisis. There's still time to join. Go to pschousing.org.

This just out from the CT GOP. We have a paper budget crisis created and maintained by the state. To project blame for it on one segment of our society is despicable.

I'm proud to participate in tonight's Sustainable CT celebration at The Kate in Old Saybrook.
