In most of my circles of friends we always say "I'll check with my "social secretary" Both M and F do this. Maybe its an Aussie country thing
Iyt can be a way of getting out of things but it is also VG at not getting double booked/in the dog house ( either gender can end there!)

Could it be most other countries have a much better education system?

I am a happy 1st married 2nd wife. 1st wife is unhappy with 4th husband while 1st husband is happy with me.
So divorce statistically makes more (by far) people happy than unhappy

The leap is staggering. A 4,000 ton conventional submarine will patrol for 40 to 60 days w/o surfacing, sprint 20 knots+ for hours on end, & do it all more quietly than many nuclear subs, thanks to being significantly lighter & running solely on battery power.

Today Toyota & Panasonic are leading the global race in solid-state batteries, with prototypes arriving in 2027–2028, mass production 2030+, & Japan’s next submarine class will be the 1st, either pure battery form or as a hybrid with a small reactor for onboard recharging. A bit like China's
