The focus is always on DBZ dynamics like Goku and Vegeta's rivalry, or Gohan and Piccolo's relationship.

So, you step into this new world--Shrines are replaced by overworld dungeons, that you can enter and explore seamlessly, these can vary in complexity, but offer the open ended puzzles like BotW/TotK.
First off: An open Zelda will always make Key-Item based progression impossible. If we want to retain the goal of being able to explore anywhere at any point in the journey, we cannot simply lock areas behind items that you gain on your adventure.
