I have to assume they don't believe the headlines they'd get by asking "Mr. President, why did you just launch a personal insult instead of answering that question?" would be worth the damage to their career. Which sucks, because it means we don't have a free press, and haven't in some time.

Specific to our interests, I know, but I find it odd that I haven't heard more about the amount of leverage the rest of the world has in potential international travel restrictions on the US ahead of the World Cup. If I was a Senator right now, I'd definitely be reminding my colleagues.
