Photo is of my two daughters' shadows above Loch Leven, a shallow lake seriously affected by climate change
Reading this just after watching a TikTok of Latino parents evacuating their children from the back of a school bus when they learned ICE was raiding nearby in Charlotte, NC. The driver opened up both front and emergency exit doors to let the children out faster.

That's what's NOT needed in UK. ☹️

" ... his newly created media and parliamentary channels of discourse were pumping out Kremlin narratives around the clock."

That could be Farage.

Instead, it's Putin's friend and political /media proxy in Ukraine, Medvedchuk, who, through Voloshyn, bought Nathan Gill's services in Reform Wales.

Climate change continues to be a risk multiplier, acting on existing vulnerabilities

The symbolism of the date(s) hadn't passed me by.

Jan 5th is the anniversary of the pipe bombing of the DNC, with many people speculating that the suspect walked like MTG.

The realisation of how poorly Johnson's shyster Tory government handled COVID is being highlighted again through the UK inquiry and Baroness Hallett - "too little and too late".

As Prof Devi Sridhar,
Edinburgh chair of global public health, asked in April 2020 and answered y'day, 5.5 years later

Given the freezing weather, @trafficscotland.bsky.social's Gritter Tracker map is up and hyper-active.

The names are always fun. 😊

Belated, but who the hell let ChatGPT loose on speech writing for Mahmood?

She's aiming to climb the political career ladder with her slogans, which are as trite and meaningless as BoJo's .

Fenton-Glynn? A councillor for 8 years, incl. floods, who campaigned to "Protect our communities from flooding – In Calder Valley, we are on the frontline of the effects of climate change, and we need to continue investment in flood defences."

Where the council has publicised its successes?🤦🏼‍♂️

Seems they'll have to find another film location for Dept Q.

January, May and, effectively, August (when Starmer accompanied Zelensky to the orange Oval Office, with others).

It may be time for an unscheduled trip to Kyiv again.

Tim Davie is out from the BBC

That was long-awaited and much-needed to oust the Tory plant, but this seems to be coming from the orange in the US. Expect more attacks.

Cartoonists so often capture a mood.
Here it's @ellabaron.bsky.social on a beaming Mamdani holding a torch to shine on a defeated-looking Statue Liberty hunkering on the pavement, beneath a dark Trump Tower.

Don't they just?
I had thought that Truss was their leadership pièce de résistance but Badenoch overseeing the party's electoral demise may surpass even that. She can fight with anyone, anywhere, anytime.

"What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen sub?"

Also, whether the sub in question was Ohio, Virginia, Los Angeles or Seawolf class. Some of these are faster and more silent than others, but only the Ohio carries the heaviest ballistic and cruise payloads - presumably extra mayo and pickles

The Tories being eaten alive by Farage (because it's him, and whatever constitutes his latest personal platform) was unimaginable even as recently as 2019 or 2020.

Time for "Ding, Dong! The Witch Is Dead” from the Wizard of Oz to enter the US Billboard 100

I remember sitting on a volcanic plug in Scotland with my girls, who were young then.

We talked about how the area all around had been swampy dense vegetation, which was how the coal seams that had driven the industrial revolution had originated.

And yes, we spoke of dinos and Littlefoot too.

Yeah, Lisa Nandy "shall not pass" for that remark! 🤦🏼‍♂️

Also, the NAO report on skilled worker visas in March noted that they had been triple the forecasted levels since introduced in Dec 2020. That's now halved from 2023-24 and increased rejections from 1 to 21%.

So they've probably contributed at the HIGHER OBR scenario level. Reeves is 🤫🙊

See ALT👇🏼
