Senator representing Virginia's 16th District. Parent of three pretty cool kids, teacher of the Constitution, Democrat, and #Henrico homer.
Finally, the Racing Commission’s reading of the law is actually insane (overly corporate friendly).

Henrico citizens are many great things but, alas, clairvoyant predictors of the future are not among our many talents.

Any common sense reading of the law leads to a referendum.

Third, there's been a pattern of statewide Republican officeholders telling Henrico County to go pound sand.

That they don’t get a voice in the case of Virginia Governor Youngkin's veto or that we don’t even get a response from our elected official in the case of Virginia AG Jason Miyares.

Second, it’s not clear why they didn’t respond as this law does need clarification.

It’s hard not to think he was either being partisan (when this issue is anything but) or he was doing Governor Youngkin and Churchill (the gambling company) a favor.

First, we asked a year ago!

And AG Miyares' office was essentially a black hole.

They just didn’t respond.

A year ago I asked Jason Miyares for an expedited opinion on the legality of the Rosie’s being built in Henrico.

A year later - and after many attempts to stop this project - I get this response.

He ran out the clock and then threw up his hands. A real profile in courage . . .

We will have a lot of great housing legislation this session.

We have to get it over the line!

It’s why I’ll be prioritizing housing supply again this session.

It's great to see another high quality childcare option coming to the 16th District, at Willow Lawn.

Vakul Goel and his team with Celebree really know their stuff!

He’s right. Congress should act.

Shocking! Big tech oligarchs want to continue to addict your kids to their programming to the detriment of kids’ academics, mental health and social well being. netchoice.org/netchoice-su...

Our law was crafted to protect speech and kids. It doesn’t have to be one or the other.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the Deep Run Recreation Center yesterday morning for the Henrico Harvest Community Food Drive.

Super shout out to Delegate destiny LeVere Bolling for all of the hard work she and her office put into the event!

He spent his entire four years politicizing our colleges. And as with everything else, he tried to politicize or turn into a culture war fight he’s going to lose.

Imagine if he had tried to work with Democrats? Maybe he wouldn’t be reduced to this sad, whiny energy.

I enjoyed being a guest at the Innsbrook Rotary Club meeting this morning, hearing about all of the good work they're doing in the community and speaking with them about my legislative priorities for the coming session.

This report is pretty stunning. And a sign of what happens when we don’t know where kids are academically.

I think it’s really important to note that the most important job standardized testing does is check in and make sure kids are learning.

They are not a perfect tool (far from it) but without them we just have vibes. And grade inflation is really hard to curb. That’s just a fact.

Good idea.

Virginia has 3 of the top 10 metro regions in the country for rent increases.

The data continues to be in. You solve it by building more supply.

We can’t thank veterans enough!

Your almost daily warning from me that we have to fix housing in Virginia ASAP.

The average first time home buyer is now 40! That should be unacceptable. We are pricing people out of the American Dream.

The good news is we can act. Let’s get it done this upcoming session.

I had a blast at the Jewish Food Festival Sunday.

And I even bought some art from the very talented Elana!

This past weekend I had a fun Saturday afternoon at the Asian Street Food Festival at The Answer Brewpub!

Great to see so many people there--including @maynivar.com
and @lesliemehta.bsky.social for the first time since their big wins.

It was so successful that all the vendors ran out of food!

The Commonwealth Housing Coalition spans left wing to right wing, business to labor, religious to secular and more. And that’s because everyone understands that Virginia cannot move forward without solving the housing crisis.
