If you already valued Tears for Fears, happened to be an unreconstructed Phil Collins head and were from Kansas City (central to Oleta Adams' story, especially as it relates to TFF), "Woman in Chains" was always going to be etched in stone. Loved it then; love it now.

I got an air popper for my dorm room without knowing it was louder (especially in a cinder-block-dominated space) than a 1952 canister vacuum. Tray inadequate for the amount of butter needed.

One of my favorite things about loving a warts-and-all album long term is finding that years of underplaying the 3/10 tracks lead me to like them better. Sometimes by quite a bit.

Tangentially: It is criminal that exhibitors had to kick this off big screens for Tron, and it makes me mad to see it further shunted into tiny auditoriums. I want to see it again, preferably not in some little lopsided AMC vestibule.
