Homeschooling Dad. Bane of Palo Alto's slow-growth residentialists. Former carnie. Mighty nerdy.
What about the 92% of Epstein's correspondence that doesn't implicate Trump or link him to Epstein? Why don't we ever talk about that?

Little car brained for my taste, but nobody's perfect and few carry the endorsement of the matrix of leadership.

Democrats, roll out!

The politicians who actually say that are the most radical NIMBYs in Palo Alto. Huge red flag. The majority of our NIMBYs will support affordable housing projects. We get almost none of them.

"Truly affordable housing" proponents are the three or so people who oppose even those.

In my area "truly affordable housing" is a phrase deployed against deed-restricted affordable housing.

The way it's used: take an affordable housing project they don't like, run the county formulas that determine allowed rents, and claim they aren't low enough so the project must be denied.

Also choosing health care of all things as the issue to link a Mayor with makes it feel like it might be back engineered to allow the speaker to rhetorically connect Mamdani to the most racially concordant right wing hate object available.

He doesn't conceive of anyone on SNAP as one of his constituents.

This is what happens when you get Changnesia after writing your Housing Element.

Nice. Only half a shade less stupid than The Terraces.

Facebook recruiters used to reach out to me a lot. Eventually I started explaining my issues with the company to the recruiters and suggest they ask themselves if they're aligned on their own personal values.

I'm proud to report they don't call anymore. :)

My local paper went nonprofit and I am very happy about that.

I'm on the board of my HOA and we are way more chill than our city. We approve basically all discretionary apps as long as some universal conditions are met, and within 90 days which is just the meeting cadence. Palo Alto will do five meetings and two years for almost anything that goes to council.

Loved the film; hate what it did to the Borg.

Are obviously unworkable requirements like this ever taken as a sort of bargaining posture, and result in proposals that make a best effort to do what the client wants directionally?

I will give $100 to any reporter who asks Trump if he thinks it was Kash Patel who told Musk that Trump's name is on the Epstein List.

It looks like someone rested a cup down on it, and it left a lopsided impression as it had to be jimmied back off.

We stayed there once in the 2000s. On way to Metro one day I noticed traffic was stopped in all directions. Pulled out camera and pointed to it. Guy with submachine gun outside the White House shook his head. So I don't have any pictures of what I assume was Putin's motorcade.

If you think that, then you are telling on yourself.
