I am not pro jail and I am confident that the shadiest of shit happens with police and other control structures, but, isn’t it an easy argument to make that crime is down because people are being jailed and thus not around to commit crimes? What is the counter argument when they assert that?

Would it be a civil jury trial or would it be some military tribunal thing where there isn’t a jury it’s just tom cruise and Jack Nicholson or whatnot?

I also listen to cassettes in my car, some of my favorite artists still put them out these days, and I give them money for their physical product, and I listen in my car like it’s still 1990.

Music fan and musician myself, since the 80’s. Just got my Spotify recap today. I spent about one sixth of the hours in 2025 listening to music on Spotify.

I was just giving you an example of an artist making a chunk of money via ticket sales and merch sales because they succeeded at finding new fans via Spotify. Sorry you aren’t able to do that.

I still remember the guy at school making me a mix tape that introduced me to Big Black, Bad Brains etc

But your point is nonsense. My favorite band the past couple years, Wombo, I never would have heard of if Spotify hadn’t recommended them. Nobody else did. I took my wife and a friend to see them, bought multiple shirts and two cassettes and stickers at their merch table. All that started w Spotify

I got a nice video yesterday of some poor sucker shoveling snow off the sidewalk so a robot could get into the street. Down by Taylor street it’s just crawling with these things. I hate it

Lorde had that song we can be royals. It was, if I understood right, about old timey baseball.

I read the article, it can only be used by whoever owns your cell phone. So, an employer-provided phone that they own and supply and you use.

I know who Mr Beast is. The rest of them, no clue. Except Grimes, I know she is the one who had Musk put a babby in her, cause this Friendsgiving at my buddy’s place there was a Lorde song playing and I was like oh that’s that chick who let Musk put a babby in her and they were all “nah”

Going forward only a fool will trust audio or video “evidence”. Already today malicious actors can create entirely believable fakes. Within a few years it won’t even require any skill.

Children growing up will have no way to know what media is real and what is fake. Impossible to tell

I should have started the sentence with “yesterday, I…” to avoid confusion. My card was not issued yesterday. I interacted with the cards yesterday

Go ask Google at what time period were social security cards issued by the department of health and human services, and (as of yesterday anyway) it will tell you they never were and they are only issued by the SSA. I personally saw three cards issued by HHS yesterday, including my own.

The Onion is pretty huge. Honestly I’m surprised you haven’t heard of it. The print version of the Onion is comparable to Byline Times (which I had never heard of before) but online they are kinda huge
