Short version - The original third act very much dealt with the allegations (in a “totally innocent” fashion) and apparently had sequences that would have violated an NDA related to a court settlement for one of the alleged victims.

Same! I have issues with the last 20 minutes, but it really plays as a dry run for the "stereotypical" MCU action fantasy a year or two before such a thing became "respectable enough" for fortune and glory.

Oh I don't mind small-town peril, but it (at least in the teaser) almost looks like a Blumhouse-ish "mostly one house" flick.
