Taken at SeaTac just now…

Essential government workers are not getting paid during the shutdown; and some might even have to fight for backpay when the shutdown ends.

Those that show up anyway and keep doing their job every day deserve our recognition and respect.

As anticipated, Raina and I will sadly *not* be appearing at the Library of Congress this Saturday, due to the ongoing U.S. government shutdown. 😢

We'll let y'all know as soon as the event is rescheduled, presumably after things return to normal.

...okay *IF* things return to normal. 😬

Written 55 years ago, Schulz's heartfelt clarity cuts through the noise, even today.

Tiny spider got in our car yesterday. Oh well, no big deal.

This morning I give an audible Yelp!when I try to get behind the steering wheel to find this little Michelangelo death trap two inches from my face.

Edited that fucker right back out to the yard like Pope Julius. Not in MY chapel, Buddy!

But NOW from the ridiculous in Boston to the sublime in Minneapolis…

Check out the indents in the restroom dividers here at MSP, giving enough space for those of us with dicks to park our rolling suitcases *and* empty our bladders.

Design so good, I didn’t even realize I wanted it until I saw it!

50 YEARS AGO TODAY, JULY 22, 1975:
The "on-sale date" of the first comic I ever bought, at the age of 15 years old.

h/t @kurtbusiek.bsky.social—who was there.

(and yes, it says October on the cover; that was a thing they did in those days, presumably to extend shelf life.)

Haha Nope! Just the gesture!

While most cartoonists I follow have yet to be verified, it looks like @bsky.app is being pretty sensible in prioritizing high profile accounts and those that comment a lot on current events. Rebuilding the kind of trust that the bad place so quickly destroyed can't be easy, but here's hoping... 🤞

So many of the best trends in comics today can be traced back to the debut of Flight Magazine in 2004. Check out the reissue of that seminal anthology here inklorebooks.com/series.

They even reprinted my somewhat bizarre afterword (it was odd in 2004; it's even odder now)!
