For kind of an off-the wall idea, someone said to randomly color pick from this picture to make a palette.

Here’s stuff that helps me:
-something like the force method to show the direction of forms before doing forms themselves
-paying close attention to overlapping forms.
-trace to get an idea of proportion
-draw only what you see
-practice multiple times and see what works best for your process :)
