At last, managed a Monterey Bay pelagic 🙂 It was as superb as I'd hoped for. Great birding - shearwaters, petrels, jaegers/skuas and auklets, while the Humpback Whales were magnificent #birds #birding #California

A trip to a wet & windy Monikie Country Park yesterday to see the fabulous White-winged Black Tern. It never came close, and the light was dire, but a stunning-looking bird anyway #BirdingScotland

Acrid smoke billowing across the A9 & down the glen as you head towards Drumochter Pass. All so a few folk can blast some hapless grouse out of the sky. What a f*cked up way to treat the environment during a climate emergency! @raptorpersuk.bsky.social @wildjustice.bsky.social

Little Egrets were almost unheard of in Scotland when I started birding (in the 1970's 🫤), but now are pretty regular on the coast, and even inland in some places. Spent a pleasant hour photographing this one on the River Leven, just downstream from the loch, this afternoon #BirdingScotland
