Made it to the airport, an impromptu trip to see my love for a few days. The local airport is so small that they only have 6 gates and apparently gate 5, the one I'm at (currently completely by myself lol) is designated as the gate that flies to DFW. I wish every airport was this chill!

Taking in a paralyzed kitten that had been previously hit by a car was not on my list of things to do today but it is in fact what was done. I am NOT keeping it but I am getting it help until someone else can take the little baby. It's an older injury so luckily I can avoid the emergency vet.

Definitely a more dim lighting here, but that's him and his pain in the butt little sister. They're both pains, tbh. His name is Dean and the sister is Keyleth.

I can post it here because my partner is not on this site and also it's a surprise for them and as much as I love surprising them I hate keeping it quiet lol. The always talented @rosenkranz.bsky.social made a book cover for a novella my partner wrote and I AM SO EXCITED. I love it!!

I paid off a car loan for the first time. Too bad it's the car I totalled by hitting a deer last December and then had to continue paying on because even having GAP didn't cover the full amount owed. Yeah, I don't understand either.

Went out to look at some houses today and one of them happens to be right down the road from the cemetery William S Burroughs is buried in so my partner and I made a visit. It was really cool!

So this is what happens when you live in an old house that only has half updated electricity making it to where you can't plug an AC unit in either of the bedrooms. I knocked the tiles down with a broom btw, only one fell on its own. There's a momma cat and kittens in this room but they're fine.

3 days, 4 trips to Home Depot, 2 trips to Lowe's, and one trip to Walmart (all for tools) and I finally have 1 of 2 barn doors up. I would like to never put doors up ever again.

I was outside for less than 20 minutes yesterday and I'm already sunburnt. Apparently the new meds I'm on make me extra sensitive to the sun and to heat. Ugh. So I'm definitely investing in a moisturizer with sunscreen!!
