I'm fairly certain the microwave needs the safety interlocks triggering in order, or it blows the surge-protection fuse. So modded catch doesn't quite do that.
So, the alternative is trying to model the missing part of the broken original and 3D print it.

The replacement catch is in, but it's still not running. Tomorrow I'll have to pop the case off and check which interlock switch isn't being triggered.

It's not as polished as I'd like, but it should fix the antique bandsaw. Once some 3/8 bsw bolts arrive.

Finally got to compare them. The classic model used briefly in RD Series 12, ep 6 "Skipper".
It is the same shot as the 8s one only found in the original episodes, not the DVD extras. This is also 8s long but shows more, so appears to have been sped up for this ep.
