4/4: Initial US data for the 2025/26 norovirus season is still being analyzed, but data from the UK shows fewer norovirus outbreaks (yay!) with >80% caused by genotype group 2.

3/4: Norovirus outbreaks are usually caused by 2 of 10 genotypes: GI or GII. Last year was an active norovirus season due to the circulation of genotype GII.17, which had been prevalent in Asia, but started popping up in Europe and North America, contributing to >75% of the reported norovirus cases.

2/4: Most people don‘t realize that hand sanitizer doesn’t kill norovirus, so the best way to protect yourself is to practice good handwashing: use soap and water, scrub for ~20 seconds (or the “Happy Birthday” song x2).
