TbTim20 a novel subunit of the non-canonical trypanosomal TIM complex is only essential in kDNA-lacking cells. This is likely because, as yeast Pam17, it supports protein import at low membrane potential

I’m presently writing a manuscript on the TAC and need a break. - The TAC is an amazing structure, only few people know about. It connects the mitochondrial genome of trypanosomes with the flagellum. – Here is schematic drawing of the TAC (left side 🙂) inspired by an anatomical drawing of Leonardo.
