For them it was not a problem but i can imagine that for some pensioners it can be. I can imagine the feelings of injustice because market value if a house is outside one's scope of control.

The only exception I will allow is if your house goes up in value so much that taxes become a mismatch with income even if it was not before. I know people who lived in a house for 30 years which went up in price 11 fold. Even after correcting for inflation that is a 5 fold increase in tax.

highly recommend anyone new in this space to buy pylons and just put them out - drivers care much more about pylons than children on the street
