What do they run their ATVs on? Chicken grease? You could see the smoke out of that tailpipe for miles.

At some point, the ignorance is a purposeful adaptation. The Russian people are no different from GOP people who still cling to trump. Willfully ignorant, or boot-licking fascists... what's the difference if they're coming to ki// or jail you? None at all.

The Narcissist's Prayer

That didn't happen.
And if it did, it wasn't that bad.
And if it was, that's not a big deal.
And if it is, that's not my fault.
And if it was, I didn't mean it.
And if I did, you deserved it.

This conflict has made me proud of Ukraine. I see the heroism of a whole people, manifested most visibly by Zelenskyy.

Your people's resolve is mythic; it's what Americans pretend to have themselves because people here did 250 years ago. We will get it back.

One Rubin down!?!?
December 19, 2025 at 6:47 PM
Dad joke time: How is a Rubin like a Reuben?

Both have Russian on them, and both can easily be turned into subs!

For the non-American audience:
- sub: a long sandwich
- Reuben: corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut and Russian dressing served on toasted rye bread

Bad joke, but sorry, had to.

There is a subtle failure foisted upon us by this "infographic": the two boxes are the same height, despite the one on the right being 38% greater in value. It gives the illusion of equality where there is none.

If you want to know how 42% support him: news that lies, subtly, right to our faces.

That's a serious upgrade: from dinghy to submarine. You three soldiers do Orkistan proud! 🫡

That's to say, Meloni is the broken clock, not you. 😆
December 17, 2025 at 1:55 PM
How is your Ukrainian, and how have you continued learning? I have an interest in starting, but I haven't found anything that works well for me.
December 17, 2025 at 1:54 PM
I'd probably agree with you if I knew more about Italian politics. But, as the saying goes, even a broken clock is correct twice a day. 🤷
December 17, 2025 at 1:53 PM
I can't/won't try to speak to Italian politics.

IMO this is the same conversation being held elsewhere in the EU. She might have different reasons for saying what I think is right but it doesn't change it being correct. Countries need to operate inside legal frameworks. Otherwise they are thieves.
December 17, 2025 at 1:47 PM
But until the laws allow countries, or blocs of countries, to penalize aggressor states, there's no disincentive if you're the bigger, more aggressive country.
December 17, 2025 at 1:43 PM
It should be obvious from the flags in my handle that I'm not from the EU, so I think it best to call me an interested observer.

From that perspective, I'm all for changing laws. How is it still ok at the current moment in time to invade another country on pretext to steal land (or oil *cough*)??
December 17, 2025 at 1:41 PM
I don't like Meloni's politics, but she's right here. Find the instruments of law that allow the confiscation of funds and then, as a group, do it. Without the law, you're just a thief.

But this means you have to do the leg work, get people together, try the case in court, etc.

All you need to do is convince corporate Democrats to stop taking insurance money and stop using Republican talking points on socialism and we might have a chance.

Need to break it apart and decolonize it. Free all the people that Putin sees as canon folder.

MK better than no K.
December 17, 2025 at 3:58 AM
Not to mention, any country doing this ("Hi, Belgium!") will suddenly be at the sharp end of Russia's war in slow motion.

So there needs to be more than just a nod and a wink here. There needs to be a full consensus that a country's assets abroad are forfeit if they invade another country.
December 16, 2025 at 11:05 PM
The counterargument: any country can steal money from other countries they "disagree with". (I mean war crimes are facts, but this'll be Russia's whine.)

Try Russia/Putin in court for the culpability of the assault on Ukraine. Once this culpability is established, go hog, as far as I'm concerned.
