I've been there. When I failed to find a job in my industry I shifted to customer service, and gave up art because I thought it caused my financial woes and stole my focus. It sounds like you're at that point right now.

Don't feel like you have to give up art for the new job, whatever it may be.

I can tell you from personal experience that giving up art, a vital part of yourself, does NOT equate to making more money in a new job. It will just cause you enormous pain.
