This has become a political hot topic because of (checks notes) a jeans add. But the movie itself is pretty good. You should check it out for yourself before rendering any judgements. adarkhighway.com/2025/08/19/a...
Americana
I think this is one of the great films of the year.  Writer/Director Tony Tost takes a stab at writing about all the things he clearly loves, country and western music, crime thrillers, social…

If they had hired a real actor to play Ian Holm’s character this would have been a solid Alien entry.  Doing it with CGI brings nothing to the table. If someone was making Godfather 2 today th…

No movie this year will have people singing the movie’s theme song like they do in New Jack City and that makes me sad.

Hypno glasses are not the only way writers tried to explain Superman only needing glasses for his Clark Kent secret identity. I think John Byrne explained that Superman always moved his face at super speed so people never got a good look at him. Any others writer attempts at this?

Look, I am a simple guy, and a Q episode of Strange New Worlds is all I want out of life. Yes, sometimes I want high minded science fiction that reflects society’s problems and offers hope or criticism. And sometimes I just want Rhys Darby in a funny coat as an all powerful wedding planner.

Of course, looking at the professional ballots I don’t think most people were choosing based on what the most “important” films were. Most of them strike me as here are 10 films I really like. Probably as it should be. And it’s gonna be a lot of fun to go through the ones I have not yet seen.

It always depends on how you are grading these things but for the record the greatest comic book superhero film of this century is Spider-man 2. Closely followed by Guardians and the Avengers. Dark Knight is 4 or 5.
