Ring of Pain, Winnie’s Hole, The Dungeon Experience
Aw thanks for the shoutout, Karrie! 🙏

Always happy to discuss Winnie’s Hole and just generally meet folks in the industry!

Will be around Melb and games week.

Mmm interesting, sounds like moments of insight help. Subconscious processing… 🤔 Maybe there’s some universal truth in returning to a task after taking space and being surprisingly better at it.

And yes! A good reminder to watch more GDC talks 😄

All for rejecting formality.

How/where did you find guidance to improve your craft?
Or get unstuck if there was something you couldn't figure out in your writing?

Mmmm tough situation.

The pricing issue isn’t something I’d considered before, that’s a very good point… would probably get backlash from funders if devalued.

Oh what was the downside of Kickstarter for you? I thought the general consensus was it can be good for a marketing beat?

Though seems less reliable for actual fundraising in recent years.

Yea it's ever more important for indies to subsidise marketing with design...

Stunning! 💪

Yea it's harder for sure 😞

Interesting case study being such a visually polished game. I feel like 5ish years ago pubs were devouring games like this?

I wonder if we're in a Post-'Viral Gif Era' where publishers have also been burnt by many viral gif games releasing with low conversion rate.

Uhhh YES!
These are incredible. Great colour and composition skills 👑

I'd guess pubs may have questioned the scope, gameplay or audience fit - If their branding risked severing a large part of the Steam racing audience.

Sometimes our bubbles can commercially hinder what we make, but it's always worth making art you believe in.

Gonna try the demo tonight!

Hmmm, I wouldn't think Crescent County is indicative of the state of publishing at large... Maybe for cosy games?

The existing audience for Steam racing games are car freaks, so they're targeting an unproven market. Racing games also seem very difficult to make replayable!
June 16, 2025 at 5:33 AM
Why do you say that?
I feel like every other game being dropped has a publisher 😵

I'm workin i'm workin, except for right now, ok back to work 💀
