(while I was away in Italy our beloved family member Biggie the Cat died. Biggie lived in Florida and was a very loving and lovely weirdo, who had unique individual relationships with everyone. husbs was a special fav of his and he would head butt and lick his bald head. we miss him a lot)

I believe so, yes! I think once you migrate to the Blacksky PDS, you can easily switch to your own domain name. the post-migration steps here (docs.blacksky.community/migrating-to...) say that you can, and this is what it looks like for the change handle setting:
