All things HORROR, mostly 70s Euro, and Rock n Roll! Recently JESS FRANCO OBSESSED!
The Devil's Game (1981) Ep 2 "The Venus D'ille" A landowner uncovers a buried bronze statue of Venus on his property. He proudly displays it, but misfortune strikes those around it. Directed by the Bavas and starring Daria Nicolodi. This, like the first episode, was tedious.

Next anthology up for me is I giochi del diavolo aka The Devil's Game (1981) a 6 episode mini-series from Italian TV, based on 19th Century works, and with some recognizable directors, including Bava! Looks like there's a Blu-ray release from Severin, I'll be using my Night Flight+ account.

Sometimes it's just like, damn, I haven't seen Suspiria (1977) in a couple years. And Udo Kier.

Suspiria a Thanksgiving movie? I don't know how you could say it's not! #Thankspiria

a #Suspiria #Futurama crossover called Suspirama. Book it.

I gotta say, the @severinfilms.bsky.social Blu-ray of Tales to Keep You Awake has a phenomenal Hours to Dollars ratio. I've been watching this for months and just loved it. After 30 episodes inished off with a half-hour doc on the great Narciso Ibáñez Serrador aka "Chicho"

Seven Women for Satan (1976) A hateful, unhinged millionaire seduces and murders beautiful young women in his castle, but is haunted by the memory of his one true love (Joëlle Coeur). Yes, he murdered her too. Also with Howard Vernon, and lots of ladies. The title says 7, that sounds about right.

Swan Song (2021) A retired hairdresser leaves his assisted living facility and walks from one end of town to the other to style a former client's hair at her funeral. Starring the great Udo Keir.

Good Boy (2025) Nice and short at 73 minutes, but the gimmick (evil house/spirits from a dog's POV) lost my interest pretty quick. Dog was cute. Made me miss mine.

another thing that annoys me about the recycled Emanuelle's Perverse Outburst (1983) is that Porno Esotic Love is next up on the box, and I feel like I already seen a half hour of it!
November 22, 2025 at 8:15 PM
Emanuelle's Perverse Outburst (1983) All recycled footage from 4 or 5 previous Gemser/D'Amato titles, made into one incoherent mess. The second half was all blowjobs. The "Pono Nights of the World" moves are clipshows, but they're presented as such, this was pretending it was new. Some bulllshit.

With apologies to Tom Jones and any other Welsh that may be reading, I meant WALES, not WHALES!

House of the Long Shadows (1983) Desi Arnaz Jr bets his agent he can write a hit novel in 24 hrs in a secluded mansion in Whales which turns into Grand Central Station for horror icons. 4 years after his last movie, 70s indie great Pete Walker directs for Cannon. 2nd chance watch, still don't like.

River's Edge (1986) Apathetic teens show little emotion when one of their group murders his girlfriend. Crispen Glover, Keanu Reeves, Ione Sky. Dennis Hopper's a recluse who gives free drugs to the kids. I guess those crazy Halloween moms are right! I loved this when I was a teen. Slayer soundtrack

I had my mind blown a couple years ago when it was pointed out to me that John "Martin" Amplas was also in Day of the Dead, having seen them both countless times and never connecting the dots

Les Yeux Sans Visage aka Eyes Without a Face (1960) This TCM showing beats my "Dr. Faustus" VHS I bought from Sinister Cinema 30 years ago by a great margin. My wife picked it from the DVR, I assume so she could periodically break out in Billy Idol lyrics. She did the same for Flesh for Frankenstein
