The explanation is that publication decisions depend both on open data and on rigour in our simulation. If published research has no open data, it tends to be more rigorous, otherwise it would not be published at all, leading to the observed negative association. (4/6)

I once attended a workshop on how to acquire research funding. One piece of advice was to get to know the funders and the reviewers (and for them to know you). So... corruption. They were recommending corruption.
