The name "Popular Science" doesn't mean we shift our coverage depending on public opinion. It means we cover relevant subjects that are rigorously researched, reliable, and grounded in reality.

And trans lives are grounded in reality.

We see y'all. No matter what.

First-of-a-kind study shows encouraging data for trans kids who socially transition
Ninety-four percent of participants in a new study stood firm in their trans identity after five years, and "detransitioning" is rare.

Insomnia in Queensland in summer is so great. It gets light at 4:30am so you can stop trying to sleep and get up with the birds. 2 hours sleep is fine.

Page 38 and it's already completely batshit. Can't remember who recommended Patrick Marlborough's Nock Loose to me, but I'm loving it

It's me! I was one of the 639 people! I was in the no sunscreen group and wasn't vit D deficient before, during or at the end of the trial - but I also spent a fair bit of time outdoors.
If I use SPF50+ sunscreen every day do I need to take vitamin D?
New research suggests yes, you may need to take a vitamin D supplement.

Evening of Long Goodbyes by Paul Murray is pretty much Wodehouse in Dublin in the noughties. I'm absolutely loving it

I've seen links in Tom Scott's newsletter that timing suggests he got from @b3ta.com - and today's b3ta's newsletter has a link to a video from last week's Tom Scott newsletter. Circle of inspiration?

An absolutely beautiful warm sunny day today. And thanks to the teacher strike (solidarity) the park is full of kids having a great time rather than cooped up in a classroom

All huddled up and wrapped in a blanket because of the cold, reading Dead Water. Opening scenes involve ocean free diving and I think I'm colder than the character in the Scottish seas. #speculativefiction #scifi #reading
