Completely done with the pin for my brother. It’s really big and sparkly But he’s 6’5” so it will just look regular sized on him lol

Just finished this for my brother for next year’s Remembrance Day. I still need to add the edge beading, which I will do tomorrow once the backing glue dries.

Just a ridiculous post, with an equally ridiculous video, because everything is awful right now. But this bit o silliness beings me joy.

Finally finished! My first time adding edge beading. Had some issues at the end as the thread got a wee bit short but I managed it anyway 🙌🏽 Deer hide backing with two pins to make sure it won’t spin when worn.

(Quarter for size comparison)

Working on four more of these poppies for next year (for my family). Just finished this one, so it still needs the backing and edge beading added but so far I am happy with it. I have another design I am working on will have a Métis sash behind it. I’m a slow beader so this took a bit to finish lol

It’s raining and I’m home with the kid who isn’t feeling great. Their class was canceled today, thank goodness, so they can rest and hopefully be able to go to class tomorrow. In the meantime, I’m beading some poppies, and hoping to get them all done and sent off to my family ASAP!

I’ve decided I am going to move my little videos over to a YouTube channel. That way they are all in one place, I can make them a bit longer, and keep things more organized. I am working on it now and hope to have it up by this weekend some time. Until then, here’s this week’s “spin”, by request…

1000 years ago The Kid was obsessed with Undertale & asked me to dress as Papyrus (they dressed as Sans), for Halloween. I posted a selfie of me in my costume & a comic artist decided to draw me 😊 We were supposed to meet up so I could get the original, but we never did & now I almost 3k m away 💗

Today’s sushi attempt. Still a bit too much rice, but overall I am happy with it. The Kid (who requested I make it), said it tastes great. I don’t eat crab so I will have to take their word for it lol

Yes, that is a whale plate, with a small whale bowl, for soy sauce lol

So as to not set a precedent of giving back items directly to Indigenous Nations, the Vatican will be doing church-to-church “donations” with explicit instructions for the Bishops to return the items to the Nations they were stolen from.
