What I intend is nothing offensive or taboo. I want this to be a fun story about what it would be like to be a ninja going through high school.

This story will be about a modern-esque AU of the Naruto series.
All the kids will be between 14 and 18.

I feel like there are other characters who could've died in place of Neji and still have a similar or harder impact on the characters/story.

Taru 12 in OG, 15 in Shippuden, and 35 in Boruto. She marries Garra and has a son, but also takes in Shinki.

Kosuke is 14 in OG, 17 in Shippuden, and 37 in Boruto. He gets with Neji, and I'm debating if Neji should live in place of someone else.
