Our new analysis shows once the system is fully operational, 1.66-1.9m reviews of refugee status would need to be done over the first decade, resulting in a total cost of between £1.1 - 1.27bn, depending on how many people lose their protection at review.

Steffin was a true literary collaborator & a poet herself. She had grown up in damp & overcrowded Berlin slums and suffered from TB. When Brecht went into exile in '33, she went too. He left her in Moscow in a TB sanatorium (he travelled East across the USSR), she died a few days after he departed.
